Abandoned, forgotten and ignored
A lot of children in our nation are forced into a life they do not deserve. They are abandoned, ignored, and hidden from society. The very structures that we create to symbolize growth and prosperity are often the ones that keep our nation's precious gems out of sight and out of mind.
This photo captures the harsh reality of a child living under the Binondo-Intramuros bridge. They sleep on the very edge of the beams and posts with no safety net. In order to reach the road and do their everyday things, they must climb up which is a dangerous and precarious task.
One wrong move or misstep, and they would fall into the deep waters of the Pasig River below.
